Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open. Following on from my last post I am feeling better and have had my medication tweaked so fingers crossed for now. I am awaiting a response from Waterstones customer services regarding this matter. Indie Author of The Sham. When Breath Becomes Air; over-hyped and way too sentimental. The Girls; superb teen angst with a splash of murder. I first came across author Emma Cline in the Paris Review of Books in summer 2013 when I found her story Marion. The opening had me hooked;. The Girls is really wonderfully written.

I lived in a place I felt was over-saturated. A beautiful place with some wild spaces and many wonderful people, but not enough of one and too many of the other for me to feel like I could spin around in circles on a beach alone. Off I wandered, and I came upon a bigger, wilder, more beautiful place. A remote place with so much space for birds and beasts, and the huge array of not-so-tiny bugs.
